THE TOWERS FAMILY SAGA
        Episode 89
The morning sun hit the steel
frame of the shop. The air
felt heavy and electric.
Robert stood by the door,
listening to the silence.
The microgrid held steady.
A sharp, rhythmic pounding
shook the frame. Robert
exchanged a look with
Dorothy.
"They are here," he said,
his voice low and calm.
He reached for the handle.
Two city officials stood
there. They wore dark suits
and carried heavy tablets.
"Mr. Towers," one said.
"We have reports of a surge.
We need to inspect the line."
Robert did not step back.
"We are off-grid today.
We have no need for your
lines anymore. You have
no right to enter here."
The official's jaw tightened.
"You are not authorized.
You will face a massive
fine for this. Shut it down."
"We are compliant," Robert
retorted. "Look at the logs."
Virginia stepped forward,
holding a drive. "The proof
is here. We are sovereign."
The official snarled, "You
are digging a hole, Towers."
Robert stared him down.
"We are building a house.
There is a big difference."
The men turned to leave, but
the threat lingered behind.
Minnie came to his side.
"They will try to seize our
assets. They are panicked."
Robert turned to his team.
"Keep the power running.
This is only the beginning."
The war for the grid was
truly underway, and the
Towers were winning the
first, brutal round.
