THE TOWERS FAMILY SAGA
Episode 130
THE FINISH
The final gate stood in the
very center of the shop,
towering over the floor.
The iron was polished to a
soft, dark sheen. The fine
detail was sharp and clean.
"It is done," Virginia said,
wiping her hands and taking
a step back to admire it.
"We really did it," Robert
said, his eyes bright with
the pride of a father.
They waited for the visitor
to arrive for the final
look. The shop was quiet,
the tools neatly put away.
When the man finally walked
through the door, he stopped
dead. He walked around the
work for several minutes in
total silence. He reached
out and touched the scroll
work with a gloved hand.
"This is absolute
perfection," he said, his
voice hushed. "I have never
seen such craftsmanship."
The Towers family stood
together in the fading
afternoon light. They saw
the reflection of their
hard work in the man's
face. It was a triumph.
He wrote the check on the
spot, his hand shaking
slightly with excitement.
"This will be the crown
jewel of the estate," he
promised them. He left with
his team to transport the
gates, and the shop was
suddenly still. The silence
felt heavy, but in a good,
satisfied way. They had
delivered. They had won.
Robert put an arm around
Virginia. "You did the bulk
of the work, Ginny. You
are a master." She leaned
against him, feeling the
satisfaction of the moment.
"We all did it, Dad."
Minnie came in with a
bottle of wine, and they
toasted to the future.
The Pasadena sunset turned
the sky a deep, rich red.
They were a family, they
were safe, and they were
builders. The saga of the
Towers was just beginning
to show its true potential.
