THE TOWERS FAMILY SAGA
       Episode 130
The morning after the
gala was quiet and cool.
Virginia cleaned the shop
and reflected on the
events of the evening.
"It was a success," she
said to herself, putting
the chairs in their place.
"It was a milestone,"
Minnie said, walking in
with coffee for them."
They sat and enjoyed the
silence of the morning.
"The town knows us,"
Virginia said, thinking
of the kind comments.
"The town trusts us,"
Minnie added, watching
the light hit the glass.
They felt a deep sense
of closure regarding the
problems of the past.
"Thorne is a shadow,"
Virginia said, dismissing
the memory of the man.
"Thorne is a footnote,"
Minnie said, dismissing
the worry of the past.
They focused on the
tasks that lay ahead for
the rest of the week.
"We have the orders,"
Shirley said, entering
with the morning mail.
"We have the demand,"
Dorothy noted, sorting
the items for the store.
The work was the anchor
that kept them moving.
"We keep the balance,"
Virginia said, standing
up to start the day.
"We keep the progress,"
she added with purpose.
They felt prepared for
whatever came their way.
"We have the capacity,"
she told the group today.
"We have the strength,"
they said as they worked.
"We have the life now,"
they said with a smile.
