       Episode 123
      THE INSPECTION
The rain had stopped in
Pasadena, leaving the streets
slick and glistening. A truck
pulled up to the shop, and
a man stepped out to inspect
the recent batch of hinges.
Virginia wiped her hands,
feeling a moment of nerves.
"I hope he likes the work,"
she said to her father.
Robert patted her arm. "You
did your best, and it shows
in every piece, Ginny." The
man picked up a hinge and
checked the movement of the
joint. He turned it over,
studying the weld lines. He
looked up at Robert and gave
a sharp nod. "This is clean
work. I have not seen such
precision in a long time."
Virginia exhaled, letting
her shoulders drop. "Thank
you, sir. We pride ourselves
on our quality." "You have
a rare talent," the man said,
handing it back. "I will be
sending more orders your way."
He climbed back into his
truck and drove away. Robert
smiled at his daughter. "We
did it, Ginny. The quality
speaks for itself." She felt
a surge of real pride. "We
built this, Dad. Together."
"And we will keep building,"
he replied, looking around
the shop. "The future is
ours to shape." They spent
the rest of the afternoon
clearing the workspace,
feeling the lightness of a
job well done. Pasadena
seemed a little brighter, a
little more like home.
