THE TOWERS FAMILY SAGA
Episode 122
THE ORDER
The shop in Pasadena was
warm and dry inside. The
forge fire was a steady,
golden glow against the
dim light. Virginia hit the
metal, the clang echoing
off the high walls. "This
hinge is almost done," she
called out to her father.
Robert wiped his brow,
smiling at the progress.
"That is fine work, Vee.
The rancher will be happy
with this level of detail."
He moved to his station,
lifting a heavy sheet of
steel. "The plates are next
in line for the press."
"We are moving fast today,"
Virginia said, wiping her
hands on a cloth. "The pace
is just right for us."
"It feels like we have
hit our stride," Robert
noted. "No pressure now."
"No panic," she agreed.
"Just the metal and us."
They worked in a rhythm
that felt like a dance.
The smell of the oil and
hot iron filled the air.
"I like this life," she
whispered, catching her
breath. "I like it here."
"It is a good home for
us," Robert said firmly.
"Pasadena suits us well."
"It does," she replied.
"We are settled here."
"We are safe here," Minnie
said from the doorway,
bringing them fresh coffee.
"You two are working hard."
"We are closing the gap,"
Robert said, taking a cup.
"The order will be ready."
"By tomorrow morning,"
Virginia added. "We are
ahead of the schedule."
"That is the Towers way,"
Minnie said, pride in her
voice. "Always ahead."
"Always pushing," Virginia
said, smiling. "But with
peace in our hearts."
"That is the best part,"
Robert agreed. The shop
hummed with the sound of
success, a testament to the
family's bond and their
enduring strength in their
beloved Pasadena home.
