THE TOWERS FAMILY SAGA
       Episode 121
      PASADENA RAIN
The gray clouds hung heavy
over Pasadena today. Robert
stood by the window, the
rain tapping on the glass.
"The garden needs this," he
said, watching the street.
Virginia walked up behind
him, carrying her tea. "It
is a change from the heat,"
she agreed, looking out.
"It makes the shop seem so
far away, but the work is
still waiting for us."
"We will head out soon,"
Robert said. "The iron
does not mind the weather."
Virginia nodded, her mind
on the tasks ahead. "I have
the gate hinges to finish."
"I have the steel plates,"
Robert replied. "We have
a solid day ahead of us."
Minnie walked into the
room, her step light and
full of energy. "The house
is quiet today," she noted.
"I like the sound of rain."
"It is peaceful," Virginia
said, taking a slow sip.
"It helps me focus on the
craft." They stood there
together, the three of them,
watching the city streets.
"I remember when we first
came to Pasadena," Robert
said softly. "It was hard."
"It was a struggle," Minnie
admitted with a sad smile.
"But we are here now."
"We are stronger now,"
Virginia added. "We have
our home and our shop."
"We have our family,"
Robert said, touching his
daughter's shoulder. "That
is all that matters."
"Let us get to work,"
Virginia said, pulling on
her coat. "The rain will
not stop our progress."
"To the forge, then,"
Robert said, grabbing his
keys. They headed out into
the cool, wet air of the
afternoon, ready to keep
the forge fires burning
bright, despite the storm
raging outside the doors.
