THE TOWERS FAMILY SAGA
       Episode 100
The phone line crackled as
the CEO's voice cut through.
"Accept the terms, or die."
Elias slammed the receiver,
his hand shaking with rage.
"They want the land, Robert."
The shop was dead silent.
Robert stirred on the cot,
his eyes fluttering open.
"What... what did they say?"
Minnie rushed to his side.
"They are coming for it all."
Robert groaned, sitting up,
the pain searing his side.
"We must hold our ground."
"The paperwork is coming,"
Virginia whispered in fear,
looking at the dark street.
"They have a new survey."
Robert gripped the railing.
"The land is the legacy."
He looked at his family.
"If we lose the shop, we
lose the heart of the city."
"We will fight the claim,"
Elias promised, stepping up.
"We have the history here."
Robert nodded, grimacing.
"Tell them we stay put."
He looked toward the door,
where the morning light
began to bleed through.
The transition was brutal.
From the heat of the war,
to the cold bite of law.
The CEO had shifted tactics.
The physical battle moved
to the bureaucratic front.
Robert felt the cold air.
He knew the stakes shifted.
"We are ready," he breathed.
The saga prepared to turn.
The shop was their castle,
and they would not yield it.
